“男人很痛苦”在现代大阪复苏！1969年8月，山田洋次导演、渥美清主演的电影《男人很痛苦》上映，大受欢迎。从那以后，寅次郎和妹妹樱的情爱，和眼皮上的母亲阿菊的郑重其事，和麦当娜的相遇和离别等固定的人情故事成为了日本盂兰盆节和正月不可缺少的风景诗。距电影第49作《寅次郎扶桑花特别篇》约四分之一世纪。2020年，舞台改成了大阪，寅先生以“伪作男很辛苦”的形象在现代复活。饰演寅的是关西的落语家桂雀等人。扮演寅次郎而备受瞩目的落语会“桂很痛苦”。由于其相貌相似，山田洋次导演亲自构思了新的寅先生像，《伪作男很痛苦》。饰演寅的妹妹小樱的常盘贵子和他的家人都会说大阪话。虽然把设定换成现代，提倡“伪作”，但“真品的赝品”是电视剧的一大看点。
