故事讲述革命青年容亨抵达北京后，于当时动荡的时局里，所发生的一段段曲折感人故事。容亨（潘志文）抵北京后，巧遇其姐容达（鲍起静）与姐夫梁节操（王伟），而亨此行乃代表南方政府为谈判事而来，为了解北京实况，往访任教于北京大学的顾学儒（刘纬民），得学儒之邀加入国事研究社，并得学生周启华（刘松仁）为私人助理。亨应邀到北京大学演讲，邂逅上海大亨之女施婷婷（米雪），婷婷初与启华相好，但遇上亨后，便对启华冷淡，启华无奈，唯决意退出情场，寄情于学运与革命事业。南北政府谈判破裂，亨被勒令离境，却暗中潜回，于幕后策动五四运动，深得启华及大部分学生支持，亨行踪被节操发现，遂设计捕亨。亨被判死刑，幸得婷婷及其父之助，得免死，改判终身监禁；而达与节操亦为此事夫妻反目。众人为了营救亨，牵引也一串串故事。
故事讲述在电机制造商子公司上班的和田理生（高杉真宙）周末会参加乐团，因为过份认真在人际关系方面很笨拙，不受女生欢迎，单身日子长达3000天。为了想被人夸奖，他每天都会做美味的饭，也执着于食材，更会和幻想的女友对话。每话都会有不同的女演员演主角的妄想女友。
