电影《我的早更女友》讲述了周迅饰演的女主角因失恋而提前进入“更年期”，之后又被爱情治愈的浪漫故事。该片是继《我的野蛮女友》、《我的机器人女友》后的第三部，也是郭在容导演“亚洲女友三部曲”的终结篇，他表示在“早更女友”后，不可能再有更强的女友了。而作为“中国女友”，周迅此次加盟该片也是受到郭在容导演的钦点，他坦言看到周迅的第一眼，心中便认定了女主角就是她，“把性感、清新、疯狂集于一身，想不到中国女演员中有谁会比周迅更适合了”。
就这样，晴希进入了一个前所未知的新世界。和晴希一起的，还有性格非常严厉，但穿衣品味风格异常糟糕的德川翔（小野友树 配音）、虽然体格现状，但毫无运动细胞的沟口涉（杉田智和 配音）、重量级选手，想要通过跳啦啦操来减肥的远野浩司（林勇 配音）。
阀门厂老板周成龙失踪七天后，被人发现已经死在上村路一幢住宅内。死者弟弟案发后突然不知去向，嫌疑重大。副队长诸葛智在案情调查中发现，死者刚离异的妻子周丽芳竟是自己的初恋女友，没想到婚后大款丈夫并没有给她带来几天的幸福。诸葛智认为此案情杀、仇杀的可能性极大。而队长陈海涛认为死者弟弟背后的那帮赌徒不仅有作案动机，也具备作案条件。对此，两种意见各执一词。红鼻子等赌徒被从广东捉拿回本市后，破案心切的王大鹏因刑讯逼供，而被检察机关立案查处。经过两个多月的艰苦侦查，扑塑迷离的案情终于大白于天下，杀人凶手及幕后主谋被缉拿归案。
